KLNE attended the first Enersolar & exhibition in Sao Paulo Brazil from July 11 to 13 and was one of the more than 150 exhibitors. The company had a stand to promote its Sunteams and Solartec range of products and to meet new and existing customers. Staff from the Beijing office (including Portuguese speakers) attended to talk with the customers. The exhibition was well attended throughout the three days.
“We already have customers in Brazil and have had for quite some time.” Said Paul Nicholson, KLNE’s marketing director. “It’s a market that we identified as a growth area during 2011 and for the last 12 months we’ve been speaking and supplying companies who will become major players in this sector. It seemed a logical step to take a stand at the exhibition to display our product ranges and have an opportunity to meet our current partners face to face and also meet new ones.”
PV power generation has been gaining popularity in Brazil in recent years and Brazil is the leading South American country in the PV market. As the government prepares to create a Feed In Tariff to be announced soon, interest in PV is growing even stronger.
“There was considerable interest in our inverters” said Eros Buffarini, one of the staff who attended the exhibition. “There were plenty of enquiries from new prospects and we even sold all the display model inverters! We took plenty of brochures and technical information sheets and we needed them. Demand was high. One of our major advantages is being able to speak with the clients in Portuguese. Many of them have a limited English language ability and it’s very easy for things to get lost in translation”
The KLNE team also took time to go to visit some clients at their offices whilst in Brazil, both in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
